Dear Families, Friends, and Members of our GSM community,

As an international school and as an advocate for peace and global citizenship, the German School Manhattan would like to support the efforts to help Ukrainian children and youth that are directly affected by war.

We have identified the Mountain Seed Foundation as an organisation worth supporting. The Mountain Seed Foundation is a recognized NGO that helps children in international conflicts. Partnering with schools in Poland, the organisation is currently focusing on getting children and youth to safety and ensuring that they receive housing and care outside of Ukraine.

To help fund their efforts, we would like to invite all members of our community to donate.
To that end, the GSM Parents’ Association has offered to collect the donations on their Venmo account.

The efforts to support Ukranian children in need are not limited to the grown-up members of our community however. In these past two weeks, the teachers have spoken with the students on different age-appropriate levels about the situation in Europe. As a result, it won’t come as a surprise that our students would like to actively get involved.

Therefore, we would like to invite you all to the GSM Bake Sale!
The students will write and draw posters, and sell cookies, cakes, and other treats in front of the park together with their teachers.

The store will be set up by teachers and students but you are very welcome to join us as customers!

All proceeds will be donated to the Mountain Seed Foundation to help Ukrainian children in need together with the donations on the PA’s Venmo Account.
